Jordan, what's your background?
I’m part of the fourth generation in the business, so in many ways, flooring has always been part of my life. I started out working school holidays in the warehouse, which gave me a strong grounding in the practical side of things. From there, I moved into marketing, then into customer care, pricing, and outbound sales activity.
Over time, I’ve progressed into sales management—helping our team achieve their targets, developing to new industries and supporting everyone across our sales team to successfully support our clients in achieving the project outcomes that they need.
What does your role as Sales Manager involve?
My day-to-day is focused on enabling each individual in our sales team to succeed. That means working closely with them to reach their targets, solve challenges, exceed client expectations, and contribute to advancing New Zealand’s interior environments.
I also look after a couple of key regions around the country, supporting architects and contractors on sampling, pricing, and project needs.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love the challenge of developing new client relationships and helping bring their visions to life, working on some pretty amazing projects around the country.
Is there a project you’re particularly proud of?
One that stands out is Te Kaha, the new Canterbury stadium. It has been a two-year journey from early inquiries through to delivering nearly 5,000 square metres of custom flooring. Being part of what will be an iconic building for Christchurch has been a real highlight.
What changes have you seen in the industry?
The awareness of products, where they are manufactured and the importance of linking the products back to a story or a theme of the project. So being able to tell a story about a product is incredibly important and it's also very important these days. It also builds on our story of being a local manufacturer as well.
Sustainability is a key focus—how does your work contribute?
We’re always developing and sourcing new products based on market feedback, especially with sustainability front of mind. Our take-back programs allow us to recycle materials locally—whether it's entrance matting or Kinetex flooring. It’s about leading with responsibility and giving our clients options that meet their environmental goals.
What advice would you give someone starting out in this industry?
Be consistent, work hard, and be there when it counts. Relationships are also vitally important and you helping them achieve their goals for projects.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy walking and getting outdoors with my family, soaking up the sea air and enjoying new cuisines or food.
