What started in 1976 as a small manufacturer of woven coir doormats has grown into a business that has continually evolved alongside our customers and the industries we serve. Over the past five decades, we've expanded our products, entered new markets, and adapted to changing needs, all while staying focused on providing quality flooring and matting solutions.
Along the way, there have been many memorable milestones:
1986 | Designed and manufactured our first aluminium entrance matting system, CoralTread.
1993 | Began distributing Mountville Mills Laundry Mat products, marking the beginning of our Matting Solutions division.
1998 | Expanded into rug manufacturing with the creation of Artisan Flooring, specialising in coir and sisal flooring and rugs.
2006 | Received our first container of carpet tiles, launching our Commercial Flooring division.
2009 | Sold the Artisan Flooring business.
2024 | Completed the sale of the Advance Matting division.
2026 | Expanded into Australia, opening an exciting new chapter for the business.
Looking back, it's incredible to see how far we've come. From mats and entrance matting to commercial flooring solutions, our products can be found in schools, offices, healthcare facilities, retail spaces, and public buildings throughout New Zealand and increasingly across Australia.
While much has changed over the years, what has remained constant is the support of the people who have been part of the Advance journey. Our employees, customers, suppliers, installers, and business partners have all played a role in shaping who we are today.
As we celebrate this milestone, we'd like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has supported Advance over the past 50 years. Your trust, loyalty, hard work, and partnership have been fundamental to our success.
We're incredibly proud of our history, but even more excited about what lies ahead. With our expansion into Australia underway and a strong team behind us, we look forward to building on that legacy and continuing to serve our customers for many years to come.
Thank you for being part of the Advance story. Here's to the next 50 years.
